Navid & Omid were born in Tehran (Iran). Their family had to leave their home country due to the war between Iran and Iraq. They went to Los Angeles but later decided to live in Germany. They grew up surrounded by music. Their mother, a composer, their father an event manager, always let them take part in their working life. Navíd started performing on stage when he was 8 years old. While he won the first prize in five international dance competitions, his love for music inspired him to write his own lyrics and music with his brotherOmid. Beside his career as a singer he is a successful actor who was nominated for his performance in the movie “FREMDER FREUND” aka “THE FRIEND” in the Category “Best Actor in a Leading role”.Navíd & Omíd’s music is a mix between R’n’B/Pop, HipHop-influences added with persian melodies and instruments.
This is the first time that Persian music has seen a blend of these sounds. The brothers started producing their debut album “FARYAD” (“SCREAM”) in 2004. After 3 years of hard work they were happy to sign with the major record label AVANG RECORDS in the USA.
